Lyon softball celebrates MK Duffield Day

Batesville, AR - Lyon College Scots softball welcomed home one of their own, as former player MK Duffield returned on April 15th for MK Duffield Day. It was a state of high emotion for Scots softball, as friends, family, former teammates, and coaches gathered for the celebration of this young woman who had made such an impact on the program.

This day of recognition and dedication began with MK throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to a round of applause. Later on that day, Lyon College Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins took to the field to officially begin the celebration. He spoke on the pride, love of the game, and impact that Duffield brought to the team as well as her numerous achievements as a Scot. He spoke on how MK has been recognized at the conference & national level for her ability on the field, in the classroom, and in the record books. Jenkins also officially dedicated the new MK Duffield Bullpen/Batting cages.

"MK Duffield embodies the spirit of Lyon College athletics," said Jenkins.
