BATESVILLE, Ark. – The (RV) Lyon College Softball team travels to Conway to take on NCAA D1 University of Central Arkansas in a non-conference contest on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
The Matchup
University of Central Arkansas: The University of Central Arkansas Bears are 11-7 on the season. The Bears, currently riding an eight-game win streak, are led offensively by Jena Wildeman and Mary Kate Brown. Wildeman paces UCA with a .500 batting average and a team-high seven runs scored, while Brown is hitting .343 with seven RBI's on the year. The Bears are led in the circle by Kayla Beaver. Beaver is currently 3-2 with a 1.43 earned run average and a team-high 26 strikeouts.
(RV) Lyon College: The (RV) Lyon College Scots are currently 3-11 on the year with a win over Xavier University of Louisiana and a pair of wins over Texas A&M-Texarkana. The Scots are led offensively by
Kassidy Robinson,
Cheyenne Herrera, and
Olivia Floyd. Robinson paces Lyon with a .385 batting average to go along with a team-best 15 hits and five RBI's on the year. Herrera posts a .345 batting average with seven runs scored, while Floyd is hitting .304. The Scots are led in the circle by
Katelyn Platt. Platt is currently 2-4, including a complete game victory, and has converted a save on the year.
Series History: Lyon is 1-6 all-time against the University of Central Arkansas, with their most recent meeting being in 2020 as the Bears defeated the Scots by a score of 16-0.
