GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Lyon College softball team defeated No. 20 Morningside College, 7-4, and lost to Blue Mountain College, 10-3, on the second day of the Gulf Shores Tournament.

Lyon moves to 13-6 on the season. No. 20 Morningside falls to 10-6, while Blue Mountain College goes to 9-6.

Game One: Lyon 7, Morningside 4
The Scots scratched a pair of runs across in the top of the first inning, giving Lyon a 2-0 lead.

The score would remain 2-0 in favor of the Scots until the top of the seventh inning. Lyon scored five runs in the top of the frame to go up 7-0.

Morningside College, though, would not go away quietly. The Mustangs responded by scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Shyanne Pedroza, though, kept her composure and retired the final Mustang batter, earning Lyon a 7-4 victory over No. 20 Morningside College. 

Offensively, Lyon was led by a trio of Scots – Addison Harmon, Kassidy Robinson, and Riley Shaw. Addison Harmon, Kassidy Robinson, and Riley Shaw recorded two hits apiece and combined to go 6-for-11 with four RBI's and four runs scored in the contest. Lyon was led in the circle by Shyanne Pedroza. Pedroza was electric in the circle for the Scots, en route to earning the complete game victory, while striking out one.

Game Two: Blue Mountain 10, Lyon 3
In game two, Lyon took on Blue Mountain College. The Toppers proved to be too much for the Scots in this one, though, as Lyon fell to Blue Mountain College, 10-3, in five innings.

UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Lyon concludes play in the Gulf Shores Tournament tomorrow as the Scots face Keiser University at 11:30 a.m. and No. 10 Georgia Gwinnett College at 2:00 p.m.
