Softball Hosts Scots Tri-Match

Lyon College Softball Takes on Judson University and William Penn University on Saturday and Sunday

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College Softball team hosts the Scots Tri-Match on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, Mar. 1. Lyon will take on Judson University and William Penn University two times apiece throughout the weekend.

Lyon College is currently 9-2 on the season. Judson University sits at 5-5 on the year, while William Penn University is 0-5.

The Matchup
Judson University: The Judson University Eagles are 5-5 on the young season and take on Williams Baptist University in a doubleheader this afternoon. Judson University is led offensively by Skye Osborne and Haley Dobson. Osbourne posts a .364 batting average to go along with a team best eight doubles and two stolen bases. Dobson is currently hitting .355 with four runs scored and two RBI's. In the circle, the Eagles are led by Lauren Herlihy. Herlihy is 3-3 on the season with a 3.11 earned run average, including a team-best 19 strikeouts.

William Penn University: The William Penn University Statesmen are 0-5 on the year. William Penn University is led offensively by Sonia Reddy and Avery Rayos. Reddy posts a .400 batting average with one home run and a team-high three RBI's. Rayos is currently hitting .364 with one RBI and one run scored. In the circle, the Statesmen are led by Peyton Parker. Parker is 0-3 on the season with a 7.00 earned run average, including a team-best 10 strikeouts.

Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are currently 9-2 on the year. The Scots are led offensively by Addison HarmonMegan MickeKassidy Robinson, and Riley Shaw. Harmon sports a team-best .515 batting average, to go along with five doubles, two triples, and one home run. Harmon has also tallied a team-high seven stolen bases and posted nine RBI's on the year. Micke has recorded a .417 batting average with a team-best 15 runs scored. Kassidy Robinson and Riley Shaw have each recorded a team-best 13 RBI's on the young season. The Scots are led in the circle by Shyanne Pedroza and Katelyn Platt. Pedroza is 5-1 on the year with a 2.19 earned run average, including five complete game victories. Platt is 3-1 on the season with a 3.18 earned run average, while striking out a team-high 20 batters.
 
Series History: Lyon is 1-1 all-time against Judson University, with their most recent meeting being in 2016 as the Eagles defeated the Scots by a score of 5-2. The Scots are 10-3 all-time against William Penn University, with their most recent meeting being in 2019 as Lyon earned a 3-1 victory over the Statemen.

The Scots travel to Alabama to compete in the Gulf Shores Tournament on Friday, Mar. 6, Saturday, Mar. 7, and Sunday, Mar. 8. While in Alabama, Lyon will face (RV) Brenau University, No. 7 University of Mobile, No. 22 Morningside College, Blue Mountain College, Keiser University, and No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett College.
