BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College Softball team will square off with Division I University of Central Arkansas on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
Lyon College is 9-1 on the season, while the University of Central Arkansas sits at 9-4 overall.
The Matchup
University of Central Arkansas: The University of Central Arkansas Bears are 9-4 on the young season and are riding a six-game win streak. UCA is led offensively by Lexi McClellan and Tyler Vernon. McClellan posts a .429 batting average and has tallied seven RBI's, while Vernon is posting a team-best .444 batting average with a team-high two doubles. In the circle, the Bears are led by Kayla Weaver. Weaver is 4-0 on the season with a team-best 0.55 earned run average in 25.1 innings.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are currently 9-1 on the year and currently riding an eight-game win streak. The Scots are led offensively by
Addison Harmon,
Megan Micke,
Kassidy Robinson, and
Riley Shaw. Harmon sports a team-best .515 batting average, to go along with five doubles, two triples, and one home run. Harmon has also tallied a team-high seven stolen bases and posted nine RBI's on the year. Micke has recorded a .441 batting average with a team-best 15 runs scored.
Kassidy Robinson and
Riley Shaw have each recorded a team-best 13 RBI's on the young season. The Scots are led in the circle by
Shyanne Pedroza and
Katelyn Platt. Pedroza is 5-0 on the season with a 1.80 earned run average, including five complete game victories. Platt is 3-1 on the year, while striking out a team-high 20 batters.
Series History: Lyon is 1-5 all-time against the University of Central Arkansas, with their most recent meeting being in 2019 as the Scots defeated the Bears by a score of 7-6.
