BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College softball team goes on the road for a non-conference doubleheader against Texas A&M University-Texarkana on Tuesday. The first game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Lyon College is 28-9 overall, 15-5 in the AMC. Texas A&M University-Texarkana is 16-11 on the year, 10-5 in the RRAC.

The Matchup
Texas A&M-Texarkana: The Eagles post a 16-11 record on the year, including a 10-5 mark in the Red River Athletic Conference. Texarkana is led offensively by Hannah Cooper and Lauren Bierschenk. Cooper paces the Eagles with a .436 batting average and a team-best 34 hits, including nine doubles, two triples, and five home runs. In addition, Cooper has totaled a team-high 20 RBI's and 19 runs scored. Bierschenk is currently hitting .390 with a team-best 23 runs scored and 16 RBI's on the season. The Eagles are led in the circle by Cassie Vasquez. Vasquez, who is 11-4 on the season, posts a 2.70 earned run average over 98.2 innings and has recorded a team-high 65 strikeouts.  
 
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are 28-9 on the season, including a 15-5 record in AMC play. The Scots are led offensively by Faith Cornmesser, Addison Harmon, Megan Micke, and Cheyenne Black. Faith Cornmesser has a team-best .400 batting average, to go along with 31 runs scored and 15 RBI's. In addition, Cornmesser sports a 7-2 record in the circle with a 2.61 earned run average, while totaling 37 strikeouts. Addison Harmon posts a .376 batting average on the year, totaling 29 RBI's and 21 stolen bases. Megan Micke is currently hitting .368 with a team-high six home runs and 32 stolen bags, while Cheyenne Black posts a .367 batting average with a team-high 32 RBI's. In the circle, Katelyn Platt is 16-5 on the season with a 1.87 earned run average. The sophomore has thrown 138.2 innings and allowed just 37 earned runs, while striking out a team-best 92 batters. 
 
Series History: Lyon is 2-0 all-time against Texas A&M-Texarkana, with their most recent meeting being in 2018 as the Scots defeated the Eagles by a score of 5-4.
