Batesville, AR - Lyon College women's soccer has been voted to finish fifth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's 2025 pre-season poll.
Scots received 32 points for 5th place finishing ahead of Principia (27), Mississippi Women (26), Eureka (14), and Blackburn (9).
Greenville was selected 1st receiving 62 and six first-place votes, in second Webster received 59 points and three first place votes. Spalding was voted third with 49 points and Westminster was placed fourth with 43 points.
Returning to the squad this season are
Katelyn Balderas,
Zoe Papazoglou,
Lauren Couture,
Jessica Steele, and
Emily Betzold. Balderas, Steele, and Betzold received national and conference recognition. Balderas was named a member of the USCAA All-American 2nd Team and was named 3rd Team All-SLIAC. Betzold was named USCAA 1st Team All-American and Steele was named a USCAA All-American Honorable Mention. Scots add a few new freshman to the team including
Hannah Higgins &
Jasmine Goodrum.
