Scots fall to Williams Baptist

Batesville, AR - Scots stumbled early in their match against the Williams Baptist University Eagles, playing from behind Lyon had opportunities but were unable to capitalize. Scots are now 1-2 on the season. 

Scots took seven shots this match, four of which were on goal. Eagles took 14 shots, nine of which were on goal. Zoe Papazolgou and Lily Barr led the team in shots each having two, Barr led the team in shots on goal taking two. Millie Beller had five saves on the day, letting four goals go by. 

First half got started with Scots down as the Eagle found the back of the net within a minute of kickoff (1:01). Rylie Willaims take Lyon's offensive action of the match firing a shot on goal that went to the Eagles goalkeeper (7:26). Beller would then make three in the next ten minutes as Williams Baptist was continually on the offensive. Eagles score again (38:08), now up 2-0. 

In the second, Papazolgou would cut the lead to only one goal with an assist from Barr (59:00), 2-1. Eagles would respond in less than 40 seconds with their third goal of match (59:38), 3-1. Papazolgou would send one over the Eagles net (63:25) and around two minutes later Barr would put on goal (65:42). Williams Baptist would put the game away scoring their fourth goal (81:22), to take the match 4-1. 

The Scots will travel to Clarksville, Arkansas to face the University of Ozarks Eagles on Wednesday, September 17 at 6:00 PM.
