Sherman, TX - Lyon women's soccer played a tough match against Austin College this Saturday, losing out 3-0. Lyon is now 1-1 on the season.
Lyon took three shots this match, one of which was on goal. Austin College took 22 shots this match, eight where on goal.

Scots hung in with Austin for the first half with no goals being scored and pressure being put on the Roos. Williams took the first shot of the match at 5:52 bouncing off the crossbar. Austin's first shots of match would not follow till a few minutes later coming at 12:24 and 16:16.
Jessie Stauffer would make her first save of the day at 26:17 to keep the Scots in the game. The battle on the pitch continued until 36:59 when the Roos missed a shot hitting the goal. Stauffer would prevent a ball from finding the back of the goal at 41:44, her second on the day. First half ended with both sides scoreless, 0-0.
Second half got off to a start with shot from Roos that sailed high over the net, Austin followed soon after scoring the first goal of the game at 53:27. Around five minutes later a second goal would find the back of the net to put the Roos up 2-0. Scots were not out of this yet as Betzold put a shot on goal that was saved by Austin's goalkeeper (73:54). Austin responded scoring the third and final goal this match (76:08) to make it 3-0. Stauffer made her third save of the night (81:33). Matthews fired the Scots' final shot of the night missing high over the net (87:29).
Stauffer in goal made a total of five saves this match, two in the first half and three in the second.
The Lyon College women's soccer team will return home Batesville, AR to scrimmage the Harding University (NCAA DII) Bisons on Thursday, September 4, at 5:00 PM.
