Kennett, MO – Scots Men's Golf hits the course for the first time this year at the Williams Baptist Fall Invitational. Scots fielded two teams with Team A placing 5
th overall and Team B placing 7
th.
A total of 39 golfers participated. Out of those 39,
Michael Winne had an outstanding performance placing tied for second with a final score of 148. In Round 1, Winne posted a 73 (+1), balancing an early bogey on hole 1 with birdies on holes 2 and 13. He struggled slightly down the stretch in Round 2, carding a 75 (+3) after hitting trouble on the back nine with a double-bogey on hole 10.
Ryan Kriz, tied for 11
th and placing second for the Scots, completed his tournament with an overall score of 153 across two rounds of play. In Round 1, he struggled on the front nine with a 42 before recovering on the back nine for a 37, carding a first-round total of 79 (+7). He found consistency in Round 2, highlighting his day with a birdie on hole 4 and an eagle on the par-five 10th hole. These highlights helped him finish the second round with an improved score of 74 (+2).
Gareth Brookshire, tied for 16
th and competing on Lyon's B Team, completed the tournament with a total score of 156. In Round 1, he shot an 80 (+8), navigating a rough stretch highlighted by several bogeys on both nines alongside a birdie on hole 12. He bounced back significantly in Round 2, carding a 76 (+4) by highlighting his front nine with back-to-back birdies on holes 5 and 6.
Tanner Durham, tied for 19
th and also on Team B, finished his tournament with a total score of 158. After opening with a difficult 82 (+10) in Round 1, he rebounded nicely in Round 2 by shooting a 76 (+4), highlighted by an excellent under-par back nine of 34 (-2) featuring four birdies.
Manav Perfecto placed 25
th overall with a 162 (77, 85).
Ace Sibley, tied for 27
th, completed the tournament with a 164 (81, 83).
Alex Gleason, also tied for 27
th, finished with a 164 (86, 78).
Robert Hopper tied for 31
st with a final score of 166 (82, 84). Lastly,
Bryant Brown tied for 34
th with a final of 167 (83,84).
Up next, the Scots will host their home invitational at The Course at Eagle Mountain on September 28-29.
