Bossier City, LA - Scots' men's golf opens their 2026 spring season, competing in the Hal Sutton Invitational hosted by Centenary College. Lyon faced eight teams during contest, including SLIAC member the Mississippi University for Women.
Scots shot 320 on day one and 305 on day two for a tournament total of 625 for sixth place. Hendrix placed first shooting 312 in round one and 300 in round two for 612 total. Just behind in second is Jacksonville College's B-Team recorded 308 in round one and 305 in round two for total of 613. MUW placed third with 616 total strokes, 317 in round one and 299 in round two. Southeastern Oklahoma State University shot 324 in round one and 298 in round two for 324. Central College scratched 330 on day one and 294 in day two for 5th place. Jacksonville's C-Team placed 7th with 323 in round one and 307 in round two. Louisiana Christian University (331,314) and Belhaven University (328,317) tied for 8th. Centenary placed 10th with 346 on round one and 310 in round two for a tournament total of 656. Belhaven's B-Team placed 11th, shooting 377 in round one and 333 in round two.
Michael Winne lead the Scots placing 3rd overall in the tournament shooting a 75 in round one and 73 in the second round for 148 on the tournament. Winne shot well through both rounds, notching four birdies, 26 pars, four bogeys, and two double bogeys.

Blake Turner finished tied for 23rd place, shooting 80 in the first round and 78 in the second round for 158. In the first he notched two birdies (1&6), eight pars (3,10-14,18) seven bogies (2,7-9,15-17), and a triple bogey on hole 4. Round two saw Turner shoot nine pars (1,3-5,11-14,16), two birdies (2&15), six bogies (7-10, 17-18), and one double bogey on hole 6.
Hunter Beasley finished tied for 28th place, shooting 83 in first round and 76 in the second round. In the first round he recorded 10 pars (2,5,9,10,12-13,15-18), five bogeys (1,3,6,11,14), and three double bogeys (4,7-8). On the second day he pared fourteen holes (1-2, 4-9,10-12,14-15,17) and bogied four (3,13,16,18).
Ryan Kriz finished tied for 30th place, shooting 82 on day one and 78 on day two. He recorded 16 pars, two birdies, and 18 bogies.
John Waltzer placed 45th, recording 89 in the first round and 81 in the second round. He notched a birdie, 19 pars, and nine bogies, three double bogies, and four triple bogies.
Competing as an independent,
Ace Sibley tied for 55th place with a 86 in round one and 99 in round two.
