With five players in the top 10, Scots place 2nd at Prairie Fire Fall Classic

Galesburg, IL - With the conclusion of the second day of the Knox College Prairie Fire Fall Classic, five Scots put themselves in the top ten and Lyon finished 2nd overall as a team. Your Fighting Scots faced eight other programs including SLIAC members such as the host Knox College, Blackburn College, and Monmouth College. 

Lyon shot a 314 in round one and a 301 in round two for a tournament total of 615 to place second. Just five strokes ahead Southwestern Community College finished first with a total of 610, recording 304 in round one and 306 in round two. Augustana College brought three teams to tournament, their A-team shot 303 in round one and 313 in round two for a total of 616 for the tournament for third place. While the B-team recorded 314 in round one and two for a total of 628 for fourth place. Knox finished with 647 tournament total to place fifth, shooting 329 in round one and 318 in round two. In sixth place Illinois College shot 318 in round one and 331 in round two for a total of 649. Augustana's C-team placed seventh overall, shooting 335 in round one and 331 in round two for a tournament total of 666. Monmouth placed 8th, recording 344 in round one and 349 in round two for a total of 693. Blackburn finished 9th, shooting 350 in round one and 347 in round two for a total of 697. 

The five Scots that finished in the top-ten were Ryan Kriz, John Waltzer, Blake Turner, William Manry, and Hunter Beasley

Kriz led the team shooting a 78 in round one and 75 in round two. On the back nine he pared 15 holes, only shooting one over on three holes to get his stroke count of 75. 

Beasley, Turner, Waltzer, and Manry were all tied for eighth place all shooting 154 over two rounds. Turner played well in the second round tallying three birdies on holes 6,9,11. He pared ten holes (1-5,7,12-13,15,17) and only bogied five holes (8,10,14,16,18). Waltzer only shot one over par in round two (73), recording an eagle on hole 17 and two birdies on hole 1 & 13.  He pared 11 holes (2-3,5-6,9,10-11,14-16,18), bogied three holes (4,8,12), and double bogied one hole (7). 

Manry shot a 79 (+7) in the second round, recording one birdie on hole 8 and paring 12 holes (1,3-7,10,12-13,16-18). He bogied three holes (2,9,14) double bogied one hole (11), and triple bogied hole 15. Beasley competing as an individual shot ten over par, birding hole 3 and paring seven holes (1,4-6,11-12,17). He bogied nine holes (2,7-9,10,13-14,16,18) and double bogied hole 15. 

Mikey Winne placed 25th overall, shooting 84 in round one and 79 in round two. He birdied three holes (6,13,16) and pared seven holes (2-4,7,10-11,14,18). He bogied three holes (5,9,12,15,17), doubled bogied hole 8, and triple bogied hole 1.
