Scots women's golf place eighth at Hal Sutton Invitational

Bossier City, LA - Scots' women's golf start their 2026 spring season, competing in the Hal Sutton Invitational hosted by Centenary College. Lyon faced seven teams during the contest, including SLIAC member the Mississippi University for Women. 

Scots placed 8th shooting 262 on day one and 263 on day two for tournament total of 525. Mississippi College placed first in the tournament, shooting 316 in round one and 298 in round two for a tournament total of 614. Jacksonville College placed second, recording 359 in round one and 332 in round two for a tournament total of 691. MUW came in third with 353 in the first round and 347 in second round for 700 total strokes. Centenary placed 4th, recording 360 in round one and 344 in round two for 704 overall. Central College placed 5th, scoring 384 in round one and 369 in the second round for a 753 total strokes. Hendrix came in sixth recording 390 in round one and 385 in the second round for 775 total. Texas Lutheran University scratched 378 in round one and 416 in round two for 794 tournament total to place 7th. 

Zoe Anderson was the top performer for the Scots placing 34th, shooting 114 in the first round and 111 in the second round for 225 total. She persevered through course conditions carding pars on hole 5,14, and 17 in round one. She finished out her play in the second round with a birdie on hole 17. 

Jacey Holder placed 39th, shooting 148 in the first and 152 in second for 300 strokes total.
