Scots place fifth at SLIAC golf Championship

Union, MO – The Scots took center stage at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Tournament held at Birch Creek Golf Course in Union, Missouri. Competing against a field of nine teams, Lyon finished in the middle of the pack, placing fifth overall and topping Westminster, Blackburn, Monmouth, and Eureka. The Scots brought five golfers to the event, with two finishing inside the top 30 and three landing in the top 40.
 
Avery Fore led the Scots at the tournament, finishing 23rd overall with a three-round total of 267 (93, 87, 87). In round one, Fore birdied hole 13 and recorded pars on holes 1, 5, and 10. She found her rhythm in round two, improving to an 87 with a strong front nine that included pars on holes 1 and 2, followed by a steady stretch of pars on 5, 8–10, 13, and 16, and a birdie on 17. Fore matched that score in round three, opening with a pair of pars on the front nine before closing consistently with pars on 10, 12, and three straight to finish her round.
 
Austyn Teufel finished the tournament in 29th place with a total score of 292, recording rounds of 93, 99, and 100. In round one, Teufel notched three pars alongside a couple bogeys throughout the round. She found her touch again in round two, marking pars on holes 2, 5, and 13 while going just one over on several others, including 3–4, 6, 10, 12, and 14–15. In the final round, Teufel maintained consistency with bogeys on 1, 3–4, 6, and 14, while steadying her play with pars on holes 8, 12, and 16.
 
Zoe Anderson finished 33rd overall with a total score of 305, recording round scores of 105, 99, and 101. Anderson improved in round two, cutting six strokes off her opening score and finding consistency across the front and back nine. For round three, Anderson held steady with pars coming on holes 7, 10, and 14.
 
Keylee Lyons finished 36th in the tournament with a total score of 315, recording round scores of 108, 106, and 101. Lyons showed improvement across all three rounds, cutting strokes each day to post her lowest score in the final round. In Round 3, Lyons displayed consistent play with improved putting and steady approach shots. Keylee was also named to the SLIAC all-sportsmanship team.
 
JacieLynn Crapse finished the tournament in 37th place with a total score of 345 and round scores of 107, 119, and 119. Crapse opened Round 1 with a steady front nine. In Round 2 managed to record a birdie on the par-3 17th. Round 3 followed a similar pattern, with consistent play on the front nine and challenges on the longer par 4s and 5s.
