BATESVILLE, Arkansas – Kevin Jenkins, director of athletics, has announced the addition of
Max Wilf as the new athletics media and communications director at Lyon College.
Wilf brings a strong background in athletic communications and strategic media work at the collegiate level. He most recently served as a graduate assistant in athletic communications at East Texas Baptist University, where he directed gameday operations for several sports, composed news and press releases, and directed press box setup and operations.
In that role, he also promoted athletes and athletic programs through social media content and worked to elevate local business sponsors by aligning them with the university's values and media platforms. He also tracked and managed gameday statistics, maintained cumulative rosters and all-time records, and documented awards and honors earned by student-athletes.
Wilf also brings experience from his time as an intern in athletic communications at Southern Arkansas University, where he supported game day operations, drafted event coverage and helped maintain record books.
Wilf has personal ties to the area, as his grandfather was from Batesville and other members of his family still have connections to the region.
"I am excited to join Lyon College and contribute to a program that values both athletic excellence and strong community, state and alumni ties," Wilf said. "My goal is to highlight the hard work of our athletes and coaches and share their stories in a way that reflects the spirit of Lyon College."
Jenkins said Wilf's energy and background make him a strong addition to the department.
"Max has a passion for sports storytelling and a sharp understanding of how to connect with fans, families and the broader community," Jenkins said. "He will play an important role in elevating the visibility of our athletic programs and enhancing the experience for our student-athletes."
In his new role, Wilf will oversee all athletic media relations efforts, including press box management, statistical record keeping, historical archives and student worker supervision. He will also serve as the primary liaison between Lyon College's athletic teams and local, regional and national media.
Wilf has a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Southern Arkansas University and a master's degree from East Texas Baptist University.
He officially began his duties at Lyon College this week and is preparing coverage and promotions for the upcoming fall sports season.
