Batesville, AR - The 43rd annual Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Invitational is set to tip off this Monday, December 8th. Eleven basketball teams from the area will compete for the championship in Becknell Gymnasium on the campus of Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas.
This event is a pillar of the local sports calendar allowing young players to show their skill and compete for top honors. Mark Martin Automotive and Lyon College are proud to provide this opportunity to young athletes in our area.
The Tournament will run from Monday, December 8th, through the championship games on Saturday, December 13th. Tickets are
$5 for ages 12 and up, Lyon College students get free admission upon presentation of student ID, and Kids 11 and under get in
free.
The first day is set to be exciting, as the first game will feature Southside and Thayer's girls' teams facing off at 4:30 PM. Later, the Southside boys' team will face Greers Ferry Westside with tip off at 5:50 PM. To close out the first day Nettleton and Cedar Ridge Girls teams will meet at 7:10 PM. Last year, the Nettleton Lady Raiders and the Thayer Bobcats claimed the 2024 championships.
As teams finalize their game plans and fans prepare their cheers, the stage is set for another memorable installment of the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Invitational Tournament. The community is invited to come out and support these dedicated student-athletes as they battle it out on the hardwood.
