Atchison, KS – The Scots came up short in their season opener at the Loosbrock Duals, falling to Colby Community College by a final score of 42-15.
 
Jaime Vazquez led the way for the Scots, earning a hard-fought win over his opponent from Colby Community College. Vazquez's performance was highlighted by three take downs and a reversal before securing the victory by fall at the 6:02 mark.
 
In the 157-pound class, Leonard Dinwiddie dominated his opponent, earning a quick take down and securing the fall just 1:11 into the match. Israel Benardo also picked up a victory for the Scots, defeating his opponent 7-1 by decision. Benardo took control in the second period with a key take down to seal the win.
 
Several Scots battled hard throughout their matches, recording multiple take downs and a few strong returns. However, the Trojans ultimately outlasted Lyon to claim the 42-15 victory.
 
Up next, the Scots are set to take center stage at home, hosting Louisiana Tech and Central Baptist College on Saturday, November 15th.
