MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Lyon College men's wrestling returns home from 2025 Huntingdon College Hawk Classic.
The Scots sent three wrestlers Montgomery, as
Ty Ferguson,
Liam Selhorst, andÂ
Shmuel "Sam" Tabak all competed at the Hawk Classic.
Ferguson finished the day 3-2, dropping his opening match to Chase Ayers of Lindsey Wilson College via fall at the 2:26 mark. Ferguson then blazed through the consolation bracket, picking up three consecutive pin fall victories against Logan Gould of Wisconsin University-Stephens Point, Benjamin Dyer of Lindsey Wilson College, and finally against Austin Gray of Wisconsin University-Stephens Point. Ferguson's bracket run came to an end in the quarterfinals against Daniel McEntire of Montevallo University via a 10-3 decision.
Selhorst finished the day 0-2 after receiving a first-round bye. His two losses were both via narrow decisions, as he fell to Dalton Wainwright of Montevallo University via a 4-0 decision and to Micah Wood of Huntingdon College via a 6-5 decision.
Tabak also finished the day 0-2. His opening match was against Chad Strickland of Montevallo University, where he lost via fall at the 2:56 mark. In the consolation bracket, Tabak received the first-round bye and eventually fell to Julian Anthony of Andrew College.

Scots men's wrestling will return to action next Saturday, January 11, when they travel up to St. Louis to compete at Missouri Baptist University's annual Dr. Tom Smith Invitational.
