BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots women's soccer team defeated Eureka College 7-0 on Saturday to gain a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory.
The Scots (2-4-1, 1-0) scored three goals in the first half and added four in the second.
The Scots first goal came at the 12:33 mark when
Katelyn Balderas booted in a goal off an assist by
Zoe Papazoglou.Â
The second Lyon goal came at the 24:34 mark when
Emily Betzold got her kick in the net.
Jessica Steele had a goal two minutes later and was assisted by
Alexis Whitley, then Steele got her second goal in the second half with 58:30 on the clock and was also assisted by Whitley.Â
Allison Byars scored a goal at the 67:05 mark of the second half on an assist by Papazoglou.
Millie Beller scored her first goal of the season at the 81:57 mark of the second half and Hanna Birgisdottir had her first goal, as well, at the 88:07 mark of the second half on an assist by
Mikayla Neveloff.
Angela Penaflor had a shot on-goal in the match, Steele had three shots on-goal and scored twice, Papazoglou had one shot on-goal and two assists,
Lauren Couture had two shots on-goal, Balderas had four shots, three of which were on-goal and scored one, Betzold had one shot on goal and scored it,
Nataly Furne had five shots, two of which were on-goal, Whitley had one shot on-goal and two assists and Byars had two shots on-goal and scored one.
