WALNUT RIDGE, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots women's soccer nearly tied the match in the final 15 minutes, but fell short 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon against the Williams Baptist University Eagles in Walnut Ridge.
The Scots (1-3) gave up two first half goals, but
Emma Rumore scored on an assist by
Jessica Steele in the 59th minute to cut the WBU lead in half, 2-1.
A late header shot by
Katelyn Balderas that would have tied the game was saved in the 78th minute.Â
Lyon College had 13 shots in the match, six in the first half and seven in the second, five of those were on-goal attempts.Â
Jessica Steele took one shot, Zoe Papazouglou had two shots and Rumore took three shots, one of which found its way into the net.

Emily Betzold,
Nataly Furne and
Alexis Whitley all took shots on-goal for the Scots, as well.

Sydney Wolf played the entire game and seven saves.Â
