BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College women's soccer Scots battled the Central Baptist College Mustangs to a 0-0 tie on Saturday morning.
The Scots (1-3-1)Â had 12 shots at the goal and two on-goal kicks, but none could find the net. Defensively,
Allison Byars was instrumental in the shutout and goalie
Jessie Stauffer had two saves on the only two attempts the Mustangs took.
Individually,
Jessica Steele had two shots,
Millie Beller took two shots at the goal, as did
Nataly Furne and
Alexis Whitley.
Zoe Papazoglou,
Emma Rumore,
Katelyn Balderas and
Allison Byars all had one shot each. Beller and Byars had the two on-goal attempts and both were saved.Â
Angela Penaflor,
Deaiveon Carter,
Mackenzie Moody,
Hanna Klara Birgisdottir,
Natalie Wyatt and
Mikayla Neveloff all had roles in the match.Â
From the 9:47 mark of the first half to the 26:12 mark, Furne had a shot go wide, Beller's shot was saved at the bottom left of the goal, Whitley's went out left, Balderas shot was just wide right, Beller took another attempt, Steele's shot was left of the goal and Rumore was also left on her attempt. Steele had one later attempt that was off the top bar of the goal.Â
Byars shot ame at the 50:36 mark of the second half and was saved at the bottom left of the goal. Papazoglou had a shot go just high of the goal in the 78th minute and the match ended without a score from either team.
