In his first year as the Head Coach at Lyon College, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Parman led the Scots to their sixth consecutive winning season, going 10-9 overall in 2011. He led the Scots back to a TranSouth Conference Tournament berth defeating Cumberland University in the Quarterfinals and falling to Martin Methodist in the Semifinals. The Scots have also gathered some national attention receiving votes for the national rankings in the past 3 years. This season the Scots had 5 All-Conference players, 4 1st team All-South Region players and 1 NAIA Academic All-Americans.
Parman joins the Scots after serving as the assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He was on the staff that in just two years helped turn both programs from the bottom of the table to competing in the top half of their well respected conferences. In 2009, the women's program set numerous school records including most wins in a season (10), goals allowed in a season (13) and five players also set individual records including, including standout goalkeeper Allison Mosley's seven shutouts.
Parman also currently is a member of the Arkansas ODP program where he serves as not only a head coach but also the Arkansas ODP Goalkeeper Coach. He is also a senior coach as well as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Arkansas Rush soccer club. He was on the staff that helped take the '94 girls team to a runner-up finish in the national President's Cup in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Parman played collegiately at Luther College in Decorah, IA. He was on a very successful team that made 4 straight IIAC Tournament berths as he lettered all four years as the starting goalkeeper and ranks 5th all-time with a 1.08 GAA.
Parman a native of Cedar Rapids, IA, earned his bachelor degree from Luther College in business management/sports management.
In the classroom, Parman's team was one of the top academic groups in the TranSouth, recording over a 3.0 cumulative GPA since he took over the program.
