Batesville, AR – The Scots push the University of the Ozarks Eagles to their limit in a 1-1 tie. With the result, Scots are now 4-3-2.
Matheus Nunes,
Mateus Rezende, and
Inaki Terra led the Scots with two shots each. Rezende and Terra each recorded a shot on goal, with Rezende breaking the 0-0 tie on a goal assisted by Nunes.
Remigio Montesdeoca and
Emiliano Cordoba each added one shot.
Henrique Megale started in goal and recorded three saves.
The Scots put on a great offensive display to control an action-packed first half.
Mateus Rezende started the attack immediately, breaking the deadlock at the 06:44 mark by drilling home an opening goal.
Matheus Nunes delivered a precise pass on the play to earn the primary assist and hand the Scots the early momentum. The attack remained unrelenting as Nunes forced a difficult save on a shot on target, while
Remigio Montesdeoca and
Inaki Terra generated dangerous looks to keep Ozarks' backline completely off-balance.
Henrique Megale anchored the defense beautifully, recording two critical first-half saves to deny the Eagles' counter-attack. Scots enter halftime leading 1-0.
In the second half, Lyon displayed great defensive grit and endurance throughout a demanding second half. The Scots' attacking unit consistently pressured the Eagles, spearheaded by shot attempts from
Matheus Nunes,
Mateus Rezende,
Inaki Terra, and
Emiliano Cordoba. Defensively, starters
Roman Magnanelli,
Tomas Biasi,
Salvador Fernandez, and
Andre Rodriguez battled fiercely under heavy transition pressure. In the 82
nd minute, the Eagle put extensive pressure on the Scots forcing an own goal to bring the game to a tie.
Henrique Megale anchored the backline during critical situations, delivering a late save in the eighty-third minute to preserve the tie. Despite efforts to try try and regain the lead, the game would ultimately end in a tie.
