Batesville, AR – Scots women's soccer hard-fought effort against the Principia College Panthers ends in a tie as the Panthers sneak a goal in past the keeper in the last second of play. With the result, Scots are 0-3-1.
Scots tallied 11 shots with six going on target.
Jessica Steele had a stellar performance with three shots, two shots on goal, and two goals.
Katelyn Balderas also marked three shots with two on net and an assist. Destiny Flowers,

Analy Fonseca,
Lilly Barr, and
Audrey Cox tallied a shot.
Sydney Wolf started in net making four saves.
In the first half, Lyon College put on a strong offensive showcase to control the first half against Principia.
Jessica Steele started the attack immediately, breaking the deadlock at the 05:05 mark with a goal off an assist from
Lauren Couture. After a brief equalizer by the Panthers, Steele struck again just over four minutes later, capitalizing on a precise pass from
Katelyn Balderas at 09:34 to restore the Scots' lead. Goalkeeper
Sydney Wolf anchored the backline with elite precision, recording four first-half saves alongside a key defensive team save to neutralize the Panthers' pressure. Additional aggressive shot attempts from
Destinee Flowers and Couture kept the opposing defense backpedaling. Going into the half, Scots hold a 2-1 lead.
In the second, Scots displayed great defensive grit and persistent offensive execution during a challenging second half. The Scots' attacking unit continually tested the Panthers' defense, creating multiple quality opportunities with dangerous, on-target shots from
Katelyn Balderas,
Audrey Cox, and
Analy Fonseca that forced saves.
Lilly Barr also recorded a shot attempt to maintain forward pressure. Defensively,
Mackenzie Moody,
Alli Barnes,
Lauren Couture, and forward
Jessica Steele battled intensely to preserve the lead, though physical play late in the match resulted in yellow caution cards issued to Steele and Barr. Despite the strong efforts on both sides of the pitch a late cross from the panthers finds the back of the net to end the game in a 2-2 tie.
