St. Louis, Mo. – Two Lyon College soccer student-athletes earned prestigious conference honors for their postgraduate education pursuits. Cristian Del Gobbo and Zoe Papazoglou were named recipients of the SLIAC Post Graduate Scholarship for the 2026 year.
Cristian Del Gobbo, a native of Pedaso, Italy, is a three-year member of the men's soccer team and will graduate with majors in mathematics, computer science, and data science. Holding a perfect 4.0 GPA, Del Gobbo plans to pursue Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in machine learning and artificial intelligence. On campus, Del Gobbo serves as president of both the AI Club and Bitcoin Club. He also co-founded the Data Science Consulting Club and works as a mathematics tutor.
Zoe Papazoglou, a native of Commack, New York, is a four-year member of the women's soccer team. She will graduate with majors in political science and psychology while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. Papazoglou has been heavily involved both on campus and in the Batesville community. She volunteers at the Children's Advocacy Center, serves on the Student Government Association, and has held the role of president for the past two years. She is also the service chair for Alpha Lambda Delta and the Director of Communications for Mortar Board. As a member of SAAC, Papazoglou has participated in visits to local elementary schools and contributed to several school and community beautification projects throughout the Batesville area. Following graduation, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career focused on advocacy.
