Batesville, AR – On senior day, the Scots started out hot with a strong close game one. However, the McMurry University War Hawk would get the best of the Scots in a single-handed game two. With the split, Scots are now 24-10.
Game 1
Lyon College 3, McMurry University 1
The Lyon College Scots secured a 3-1 victory behind a composed performance on the mound and timely hitting throughout the middle innings. After allowing an early run,
Joe Galay settled in before handing the ball to
Jackson Smith, who delivered five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four to earn the win and control the pace of the game. Offensively, Scots broke through in the fourth inning when
Braden Bramlett worked a walk and later came around to score, igniting momentum.
Caleb Collins sparked the offense in the fifth with a double, followed by another double from
Misael Santiago, setting up
Eli Marcotte's sacrifice fly to give Lyon the lead. In the sixth,
Tyler Hahn reached after being hit by a pitch and
Slade Inman delivered the biggest hit of the day with a clutch RBI triple to extend the advantage. Collins and Santiago each finished with extra-base hits, while
Kooper McCoy added a single and contributed defensively behind the plate.
Game 2
Lyon College 5, McMurry University 17
In game two, the Scots showed fight but fall to the War Hawks.
Eli Marcotte led the Scots with two doubles, a run scored, a walk, and a stolen base, consistently setting the tone at the top of the lineup.
Braden Bramlett went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while
Tyler Hahn added a double, drove in a run, and stole a base.
Kooper McCoy contributed with a clutch RBI single and finished with two RBIs, and
Jarius Edwards added an RBI double during Lyon's sixth-inning rally.
Ashton Compton recorded a hit, while
Caleb Collins and
Misael Santiago each reached base multiple times to help generate scoring opportunities. On the mound,
Cale Slaten provided a strong relief outing, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts to stabilize the game early.
