BATESVILLE, Ark. – Nominations are now being accepted for the 44th Class of the Lyon College Athletic Hall of Fame, Director of Athletics, Kevin Jenkins, has announced.
Alumni and Friends of Lyon College are urged to go online to nominate former student-athletes or anyone who has been a long-time contributor to the athletics programs at Lyon College before the deadline of May 15, 2026. There are currently 172 individual members and three teams in the Hall of Fame. The 2026 induction banquet will be held late fall 2026.
Each year the Lyon Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee chooses a small group of exemplary past athletes for induction.
Nominations may be made in the categories below:
Student Athlete (Lyon College only)
1) Individuals nominated for their athletic achievements must have made significant contributions to Lyon College athletics
program as members of a varsity team.
2) The candidate must have been out of college a minimum of ten years.
3) Outstanding or exceptional performance in one or more sports must have been achieved.
4) The candidate must have achieved a high level of sportsmanship while a student.
5) The candidate shall be judged primarily on athletic achievement as a student at Lyon College and has demonstrated interest, service or support of Lyon College and athletic programs since leaving college.
Coach/Administrator (Lyon College only)
1) Coaches, administrators, and others who have made exceptional contributions.
Team (Lyon College only)
1) Teams that have performed outstanding feats in competition and honored Lyon College in the national forum of athletics. A team may be nominated after 20 years from the completed season.
The Carl Garner Meritorious Service Award
1) The candidate must have demonstrated outstanding, continuing service to the Lyon College Athletic Department
