Scots control the floor in a strong 87-60 victory

Batesville, AR – Scots return home brings success with Lyon securing a strong 87-60 win over the Eureka Red Devils. With this result, Scots advance to 10-10 on the season and hold a conference record of 7-5.

Natalya Kaza led the way for the Scots scoring 28 points and had a team high of 10 rebounds. Kaysharia Woods led the Scots in assist with two and recorded 10 points. Savanna Lopez swats down a total of three shots from the Red Devils and puts down nine points.

Lyon College got off to a strong start against the Eureka Red Devils, quickly overcoming an early deficit to take control of the game in the first half. After the Red Devils scored the first basket, Lyon responded with key plays from Natalya Kaza, who hit a three-pointer and later a jumper to help build the lead.  Savanna Lopez provided a defensive presence with blocks and also contributed a jumper in the second quarter.

Lyon began to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring Eureka significantly to build a commanding halftime lead. Kaysharia Woods contributed with key free throws and layups, while Paris Halliburton made several free throws and a jumper in the paint. Izabel Soto extended the lead with a three-pointer in the second period, and Alyssa Abascal added a layup late in the half. The Scots' defense forced several turnovers, capitalizing on these opportunities to score fast break points and points in the paint. At the end of the first half, Lyon led the Red Devils 51-35.

The third quarter saw the Scots pull away definitively with a 28-10 run. Natalya Kaza led the charge, scoring early layups and a key three-pointer to extend the lead to nearly 20 points. Alyssa Abascal dominated the paint with multiple tip-ins and jumpers, while Kaysharia Woods remained consistent from the free-throw line. Lyon's defense was stifling, with Savanna Lopez and Coi Bradley controlling the boards and limiting Eureka's second-chance opportunities.

The fourth quarter showcased Lyon's depth as they maintained their momentum despite frequent substitutions. Natalya Kaza continued her efficient scoring performance, finishing the game with a team-high 28 points. Fresh energy from the bench contributed to the final push; Johanna Zocholl and Heidi Parrish both converted layups in the paint, and Brooklyn Berry capped off the night with a late three-pointer. Lyon's defensive pressure forced the Red Devils into 25 total turnovers, which the Scots translated into 26 points. By the final buzzer, Lyon had maintained a comfortable 27-point lead to close out the game.
