Clarksville, AR – On a cold and windy day in Clarksville, Scots come away with a win from the Ozark Eagles. However, the Eagles would single handedly take game two on the day splitting the series. Lyon opens their season with a record of 3-2.
Game 1
Lyon 13, University of the Ozarks 7
Lyon College Fighting Scots secured a thrilling 13-7 comeback victory, overcoming an early 6-0 deficit with an explosive nine-run sixth inning. The offensive surge was led by
Kooper McCoy, who finished the day 3-for-3 with four RBIs, highlighted by a massive grand slam during the sixth-inning rally.
Landon Swallow also powered the comeback with a two-run home run in the same frame, while
Ashton Compton contributed a triple and two runs scored to keep the momentum shifting toward the Scots.
Slade Inman provided critical plate discipline and timely hitting, drawing two walks and driving in two runs to help dismantle the Eagles' pitching staff. On the mound,
Aidan Linson was credited with the win after delivering four strong innings of relief, effectively silencing the Ozarks' bats by allowing only one earned run and two hits.
Gavin Reese and

Lyon College faced a tough 15-3 loss against the Eagles on the second game of the day. The Eagles came out hot in the first inning. Scots managed to score in just two frames: the fourth and sixth innings.
Kooper McCoy provided an offensive highlight by hitting a solo home run in the top of the fourth. In the sixth inning, the Scots added two runs with RBIs from
Caleb Collins and
Thomas Irwin.
