Lyon splits series against the Eagles on the road

Clarksville, AR – On a cold and windy day in Clarksville, Scots come away with a win from the Ozark Eagles. However, the Eagles would single handedly take game two on the day splitting the series. Lyon opens their season with a record of 3-2.

Game 1
Lyon 13, University of the Ozarks 7

Lyon College Fighting Scots secured a thrilling 13-7 comeback victory, overcoming an early 6-0 deficit with an explosive nine-run sixth inning. The offensive surge was led by Kooper McCoy, who finished the day 3-for-3 with four RBIs, highlighted by a massive grand slam during the sixth-inning rally. Landon Swallow also powered the comeback with a two-run home run in the same frame, while Ashton Compton contributed a triple and two runs scored to keep the momentum shifting toward the Scots. Slade Inman provided critical plate discipline and timely hitting, drawing two walks and driving in two runs to help dismantle the Eagles' pitching staff. On the mound, Aidan Linson was credited with the win after delivering four strong innings of relief, effectively silencing the Ozarks' bats by allowing only one earned run and two hits. Gavin Reese and Brody Bailey handled the early innings, navigating a difficult start before the bullpen and bats took control. Scots' lineup combined for 10 hits and 12 RBIs.
