Kaza and Mason lead Scots in 101 point win over the Beavers

Carlinville, IL -The Lyon College women's basketball team dominated the Blackburn College Beavers offensively and defensively taking the game 101-66. Scots now are 6-6 in 2025-26 campaign and 4-1 in SLIAC conference play.

The Scots took the lead early and never gave it back, jumping out to a 29–8 lead after the first quarter behind suffocating defense and an up-tempo offensive attack. Lyon forced turnovers, pushed the pace in transition, and built a commanding 50–26 advantage by halftime. Your Fighting Scots continued to control the game in the third quarter before pouring in another 29 points in the fourth to put over the 100-point mark.

Natalya Kaza led all scorers with 28 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the field while adding four steals and four assists. Molly Mason followed with a standout all-around performance, scoring 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting, knocking down five three-pointers, and pulling down 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the year. Camya Porter added 15 points and six assists, while Savanna Lopez contributed six points, six rebounds, as well as a block and a steal.

Scots were dangerous off the bench scoring 29 points, with 18 players entering the game. Brooklyn Berry chipped in seven points off the bench, and Coi Bradley provided a spark with six points, two assists, and a steal. Johanna Zocholl was active on the glass, grabbing 11 rebounds to help Lyon win the rebounding battle, 53–45.

As a team, the Scots shot 49.3 percent from the field and 51.9 percent from three-point range, while also scoring 32 fast-break points. Defensively, Lyon held Blackburn to just 29.1 percent shooting for the game and forced 19 turnovers.
