PARAGOULD, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots softball team split a double-header on Saturday at Crowley's Ridge.

The Scots (3-8) won the first game 7-5 and dropped the second game 5-3. 

In the first game, Crowley's Ridge led 2-0 before Skylar Foreman doubled to right field to bring in MK Duffield in the top of the third inning. Anna Voth singled to right center to bring in Foreman to tie the game 2-2.

Crowley's Ridge went up 5-2 through the fifth inning, but Gabby Thomas singled to bring in Voth in the top of the sixth inning. Georgia Holzer singled to right center to bring in Thomas and Ohnrie Bergman went to third base on the play. Duffield hit a sacrifice grounder to first, but Bergman scored to tie the game 5-5. Rebecca Rodriguez doubled to right center to bring in Holzer and put Lyon College up 6-5.
In the top of the seventh inning, Ashley Abel reached first on an error and Voth scored to make it 7-5.

Holzer picked up her third win of the year by pitching seven full innings. She gave up 11 hits, five runs, four of which were earned and walked four batters of the 36 she faced. 

Ohnrie was 2-for-4 in the game with a run scored and a walk, Holzer was 1-for-4 with one run scored and one run batted in, Duffield was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI, Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Foreman was 1-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI and one walk, Orf was 0-for-4, Voth was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one RBI and two walks, Callie Marberry was 1-for-3, Gabby Thomas was 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, and Abel was 0-for-1 in the game.

Rodriguez had two doubles in the game and Foreman had one double. Bergman had two stolen bases, Holzer stole a base, Voth stole a base and Thomas had a steal. The Scots turned two double-plays in the game.

The Scots lost the second game, but fought back to make it close. CRC led 1-0  through the top of the third inning when Lyon College scored three runs. The Scots scored another run in the top of the seventh after Crowley's Ridge went up 5-2.

Bergman was 1-for-4 with one run scored, Rodriguez was 1-for-3 with one hit and one RBI, Duffield was 1-for-3 with one hit and one RBI, Foreman was 1-for-3 with one hit, Voth was 0-for-3, Orf was 0-for-2, Abel was 0-for-1, Marberry was 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, Fallon Lancaster was 1-for-2 with one run scored, Emily Martinez was 0-for-1 and Thomas was 1-for-3 with one hit.

Duffield and Thomas both had doubles in the second game, and Thomas had a stolen base. 

Sydney Lasher was the losing pitcher for the Scots. She went six innings, gave up 11 hits, five runs, walked one and struck out four.
