Scots dominate in shut out 4-0 victory over Eureka

Eureka, IL - Scoring three goals in second half, Scots men's soccer dominated Eureka with a continuous onslaught that threatened the Red Devils at will. With this sweep your fighting Scots are now 5-3-2 for the season and 3-0 in conference. 

Lyon took an outstanding 29 total shots in this match with 14 coming in the first and 15 in the second half. Lyon was a menace, threatening the Red Devils goal with 14 shots on goal the majority of which came in the second half. In stark contrast Eureka fired nine shots, two coming in the first and seven in the final half. None of these nine shots were on goal. 

Lucca Torres and Tiago Donandon each notched two goals this match. Torres led the team in shots taking eight and shots on goal with five. Donadon took five shots, four of which were on goal. Cristian De La Rosa, Tomas Biasi, and Ariel Reyes each had one assist. 

The first set got off to an intense start with a flurry of fouls coming at the start, eventually the Red Devils would take the first offensive action of the match sending the first shot high over the goal (11:57). Scots would put pressure on Eureka's goal for the first time as Matheus Nunes fired a shot into the top-left of the goal but was saved by the Devil's goalkeeper (15:18). Lyon's offensive did not stop as Joao Barros took a shot (19:19) which was followed by Micah Rangel sending one of his own (20:15) both missed left of the goal. Scots kept up the pressure with shot from Torres missing left (22:06) and another shot this time from Donadon (24:34). Around six minutes later, Donadon would put the Scots on top scoring the first goal of the match with Reyes on the assist (30:34). Up 1-0, Lyon did not stop as shots from Inaki Terra (30:50), Nunes (33:18), and Torres (33:59) were fired at the Red Devils. Torres would put another shot on goal (36:21) as would Nunes (41:09) keeping up the attack as the clock ran out. 

Scots came out hot in the second half as Torres would put another shot on goal (46:27). Donadon would keep up the attack sending a shot to Devils goalkeeper (56:36). Lyon would go up 2-0, as Torres found the back of the net with an assist from Biasi (57:06). Scots would stay on Eureka's side of the field with shots from Fernandez (58:25) and Nunes (62:45) flying near the goal. Piero Macias would put a shot on goal (74:46) and not two minutes later Leonardo Bravo would fire one to Devils goalkeeper (76:29). Eureka would try to make a play firing a shot (80:29) that was blocked by a Scot and would fire one over the top of Lyon's goal (80:34).Torres (82:15) and Donadon (83:40) would respond with shots on goal that would be saved by Eureka. Undaunted Donadon would score another goal with an assist from De La Rosa (87:00). Not 40 seconds later Torres would score the fourth and final goal (87:36) to put the Scots up 4-0. The Red Devils would send there final shot over the net (89:37) as time expired. 

Scots will travel to Carlinville, IL to face the Blackburn College Badgers on Saturday, October 11 at 1:00 PM as they continue SLIAC play.
