CONWAY, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots men's soccer team defeated the Hendrix College Warriors 1-0 on Friday night in Conway.

The Scots (1-1-1) battled through a scoreless first half to finally get a goal in the 64th minute when Lucca Torres kicked in the winning goal on an assist by Matheus Nunes.

Defenders and midfielders,  Lucas Crivilatti, Diego Santos, Micah Rangel, Nate Peterson, Gustavo Giesbrecht, Tomas Biasi and Joao Barros kept Hendrix from scoring. Scots goalie Gabriel Rangel had eight saves in the match.

Right off the bat,or foot, Barros took a shot in the ninth minute for Lyon College, which was saved. Barros had another shot seconds later and Torres took an on-goal kick that was also saved. Barros continued to put Hendrix on the defensive with another shot in the 20th minute and Traviss Ragan had a shot in the 23rd minute for the Scots.

In the second period, Torres took a shot in the 51st minute and Tomas Biasi had a kick on-goal that was just saved by the Warriors goalie in the 54th minute. Following that play, Barros tried a shot that was just over the top of the goal. Finally, Torres got a scoring goal off a Nunes assist at the 64.45 mark. Later in the match, Peterson got off a shot that was saved in the bottom left corner of the goalie box
