CONWAY, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots dropped a 19-2 non-conference contest against the Hendrix Warriors in Conway on Tuesday night.
The Scots (17-17) trailed 6-0 before getting two runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Lane Vangennip singled up the middle,
Logan Lightner singled to left field and with one out,
Kooper McCoy got a base hit to center field and Vangennip scored on the play.
Jayden Cull singled to center to load the bases and
Logan Doody got a run-scoring base hit to down the third base line to bring in Lightner to make it 6-2.
The Scots had 10 hits in the game. Cull was three-for-three, Doody was 2-for-3, while Brayden Anderson, McCoy,
Caleb Collins, Vangennip and Lightner all had one hit each in the game.
Blair Francis started the game and he went 3.2 innings and gave up six runs.
Carter Sprague pitched for .2 innings and gave up three runs,
Ian Jackson came in for .2 innings,
Joe Galay pitched one inning and gave up four runs,
Aiden Connolly pitched to three batters and gave up three runs,
Colton Williams came in to pitch an inning and gave up three runs, and
Owen Sanders pitched one inning.
The Scots play a double-header on Wednesday at the University of the Ozarks.
