Scots softball takes two from Ecclesia College

BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College softball Scots defeated the Ecclesia College Royals  8-0 and 9-6 on Sunday afternoon at Howard and Mary House Field.

The Scots (16-15) got one run in the bottom of the first inning when Trinity Arrambide singled up the middle and scored Anna Voth for a 1-0 lead. 

Skylar Forman hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning over the right field wall that also scored Olivia Orf and Georgia Holzer to make it 5-0. 
Chloe McCance doubled to left center in the bottom of the fifth inning to bring in Jada King and Sydney Lasher, then Orf doubled to center field and McCance scored for an 8-0 lead.

McKenzie Campbell picked up the win going five full innings and allowing three hits to go with six strike outs. 

In the second game, Sophie Varela scored on an error by the Ecclesia catcher when Voth stole third base. Orf grounded out to the pitcher, but Voth scored. Foreman reached on a error and Arrambide scored for a 3-0 lead. 

Ecclesia came back to score two runs. In the bottom of the second though, Varela scored on an error, Arrambide singled through the right side to score Orf for a 5-2 lead. 
In the fourth inning, Voth doubled in Holzer and Orf singled in Varela. Arrambide reached on an error and Voth scored for an 8-2 Lyon Colege lead. Lyon added another run in the fifth inning when Voth hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Holzer to make it 9-2.

Ecclesia scored four times in the top of the seventh to closed it to a three-run game.
Lasher picked up the win for the Scots by pitching three innings and allowing two runs. Holzer came in to pitch four innings in relief.
