CONWAY, Arkansas - The Lyon College softball team fell to the Hendrix College Warriors in a double header played on Warrior Field in Conway
In the top of the second inning the Scots were down 6-0. With two outs in the inning,
Skylar Foreman scored the first run for the Scots on a passed ball.
Whitney Mitchell then score the next run for the Scots on a wild pitch that also advanced
Jada-Lynn King to third base. King then scored the third run for the Scots on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the third inning the Warriors scored three runs making the score 9-3. With the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning,
Trinity Arrambide was hit by the pitch allowing
Sophie Varela to score a run.
Sydney Lasher then reached first by fielder's choice which allowed for
Anna Voth to score another run for the Scots.
Olivia Orf manged to score the sixth run for the Scots on a wild pitch bringing the score up to 9-6. Foreman hit a single straight up the middle bringing Trinity home for anther run.
In the top of the fifth inning the score stood at 9-7 in favor of the Warriors. With runners in scoring position Varela stepped up to bat and hit a single to the right field, which advanced King and Mitchell home tying the score 9-9.
The Warriors scored one run in the bottom of the fifth innings giving them the 10-9 lead.
The second game remained scoreless up until the top of the third when Mitchell scored the first run. The Warriors then gained the lead in the bottom of the third inning scoring four runs.
In the top of the fifth inning Mitchell was able to score another run for the Scots off a grounder hit by Varela. In the top of the sixth inning
Georgia Holzer hit a double into left field allowing
Chloe McCance to score.
The Warriors defeated the Scots 4-3 in the second game.
