FULTON, Missouri -
Kylon McCullough scored 23 points and
Frank Toney put 21 to lead the Lyon College Scots past the Westminster Blue Jays 94-67 on Thursday night in SLIAC action in Fulton, Missouri.
The Scots (15-8, 12-5) keep tied atop the SLIAC standings with the victory. McCullough had a double-double with his 23 points and 10 rebounds.
John Paul Morgan had 13 points and eight rebounds,
Nikola SaSaroga added 12 points, Trent Bell scored 11 points,
Jaaron Harriott added eight points,
Malik Madison added four points and
Luke Bridges scored two points.
The Scots started off quick with a jumper from SaSaroga, a jumper from McCullough, a layup from Toney and a three-pointer from Bell made it a 9-2 lead. McCullough hit a three-pointer, Bell put in a layup, SaSaroga scored and McCullough added a basket for an 18-9 lead at the 14:10 mark of the first half.
Morgan scored inside, Toney put in another layup, then Toney made a jump shot, McCullough put in a layup, SaSaroga had a dunk and McCullough put in a layup for a 30-9 lead with 9:34 to go in the half.
Morgan added a free throw, Madison threw down a dunk, then he made free throws. Harriott scored on layup and a three-pointer, McCullough put in a jump shot, Morgan scored inside and McCullough scored on a layup for a 37-17 lead.Â
McCullough added a jumper, Toney hit a three-pointer and SaSaroga put in a layup with 12 second to go in the half to make it 54-26.
In the second half, SaSaroga put in a free throw, Toney made two free throws and Morgan made a free throw. McCullough put in a jump shot, Toney skated in for a layup, Morgan scored inside again, McCullough put in another layup and SaSaroga scored for a 68-48 lead with 11:25 left in the game.
Morgan scored inside, Harriott made a free throw, SaSaroga put in a free throw, Toney scored on a layup, then Toney made two free throws. McCullough hit a jumper and Bell made two free throws and hit a jump shot for an 82-60 lead with 5:55 to go.
Toney and Morgan scored on fast-break layups for the Scots, Toney added two free throws, Bell scored, Bridges put in a layup and Harriott hit a shot with four seconds left to make it 94-67.
