SEGUIN, Texas - The Lyon Scots football team lost 45-10 to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at Bulldogs Stadium in Seguin, Texas in a SCAC match up.
The Scots (1-7, 0-6) had 264 yards of total offense in 70 plays.
After TLU had scored on its opening drive to go up 7-0,
Jaylin Babers capped off a seven play, 49 yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown reception from quarterback
Joe Galay.
Jesus Romero-Castillo added the extra point to tie the game at 7-7.Â
The Scots score was set up by a 49-yard kickoff return from Reggie Brown.

The Bulldogs added another touchdown before the end of the first quarter to lead 14-7.
Lyon College drove down to the TLU 27 yard line, but turned the ball over on downs after an incomplete pass on fourth-and-eight.Â

Texas Lutheran scored two more touchdowns before the end of the first half to lead 28-7.
A pass 13-yard pass to
Xavier Long gave the Scots a first down midway through the third quarter on a dive that saw
Javarion Williams catch at 24-yard pass to the TLU 12. The drive resulted in a 33-yard field goal by Romero-Castillo to make it a 28-10 game with 3:31 to go in the third quarter.
Texas Lutheran kicked 30-yard field goal with 32 seconds to go in the quarter to lead 31-10.
Then the Bulldogs added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.Â
Individually for the Scots, Galay was 22-of-37 for 153 yards and threw one touchdown and had one interception.Â
Babers rushed 24 times for 91 yards and Mark Brown had five rushes for 22 yards to lead Lyon College.Â
Reggie Brown II had four catches for 62 yards, Williams had five receptions for 40 yards, Long had two catches for 19 yards, Babers caught two passes for 17 yards with one for a touchdown, and
Cedric Allen had five catches for 17 yards.
Keidrick Wooten is now the Lyon College record leader for tackles-for-losses with two today against TLU. He had six tackles overall.
Mason Davis led the Scots with seven tackles, La'Kendrin more had six tackles,
Zach Moragne had four tackles, while Slaton Wheeler,
Xiyiah Spencer-Cole,
Michael Wingo and
Nate Sarver had three tackles each.Â
Romero-Castillo had three punts for 90 yards to average 30 yards per kick. Reggie Brown led in kickoff returns with two for 79 yards and Williams caught three kickoffs for 51 yards.Â
The Scots will play their final home contest of the season next Saturday, November 9. The game is set for a 2 p.m. kickoff at Pioneer Stadium and it will be Senior Day for Lyon College football.Â
