BATESVILLE, Arkansas -
Kylon McCullough scored 29 points,
Frank Toney added 28 points and
Trenton Bells scored 11 points to lead the Lyon College Scots to an 82-76 win in the season-opener at Becknell gymnasium on Saturday night.
The Scots (1-0) trailed 38-33 at halftime and fell behind 60-49 in the second half, but mounted a comeback with scoring from McCullough and Toney.
Kennedy Warren made a three-pointer with 2:33 left in the game to give Lyon College a 74-72 lead.Â
From there, Jarron Harriott put in a layup, McCullough scored and McCullough closed out the game with four straight free throws.
Toney also had eight assist,
Malik Madison pulled down a game-high eight rebounds,
Colbie West added six boards and Harriott had five rebounds.
McCullough was 9-of-10 from the free throw line and had six steals. Toney had five steals and Madison had six blocked shots in the contest.
The Scots (1-0) will host Hendrix College next Thursday.
