SHREVEPORT, Louisiana - The Lyon College Scots fell to the Centenary Gents 35-14 on Saturday night in SCAC play in Shreveport.
The Scots (1-4, 0-3) scored first on a 5-yard run from quarterback
Grayson Johnson with 9:02 left in the first quarter.
Centenary came back to tie the game in the game in the second period and took a 14-7 lead into halftime.
The Gents scored in two plays to start the third quarter to take a 21-7 lead, then added another touchdown with 53 seconds to go in the period to lead 28-7.
Lyon College scored again on a
Jaylin Babers 1-yard run with 9:31 left in the game.Â
The Scots threw a pick-six to near the end of the game.Â
Babers ran 20 times for 85 yards and Johnson had eight rushes for 53 yards to lead the Scots offense.
Johnson passed six times for 43 yards and
Joe Galay came in during the second half to go 12 of 20 for 88 yards and one interception.
Reggie Brown caught six passes for 40 yards,
Javarion Williams had four catches for 39 yards, Babers had four catches for 22 yards and
Aedan Huntsman had four catches for 30 yards.
Defensively, Will Litton had 10 total tackles,
Mason Davis had seven,
Thomas Knowles had five, Rene Dominque had five,
Tanner Pollett had four tackles, as did
Jacob Hutto,
Nate Sarver and
Keidrick Wooten.
