CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the University of Ozarks Eagles on Tuesday afternoon in Clarksville.
The Scots trailed 1-0 when the Eagles scored at the 32:29 mark, but Lyon tied the game 1-1 on a goal by
Gustavo Giesbrecht. The game remained tied until Ozarks got a goal at the 71:22 mark.
The Scots had eight shots, two of which were on goal. Lyon had four saves and made five corner kicks. The Scots were guilty of 10 fouls, a yellow card and a red card in the first 50 minutes of the game.Â
Ozarks was yellow-carded twice in the final eight minutes of the game.Â
After coming off a 2-0 loss on Sunday to Rhodes College, the Scots hit the field with
Martin Esquivel,
Andrei Galca,
Tomas Biasi,
Erik Oliveira,
Ronaldo Jacob and
Daniel Pasztor all had shots on goal. Galca had two shots and Jacob had a shot on goal, as well.Â
Lance Scudder made four saves in the game for the Scots.
At the 32.29 mark, Peterson's red card resulted in a penalty kick that scored from Ozarks. Three minutes later, Giesbrecht broke open just outside the Eagles goal box and punched the ball in to tie the game.Â
Later in the second half, Ozarks put in another goal at the 71:22 mark. Esquivel took a shot that was pushed above the goal with less than seven minutes remaining. That was the last on goal shot for the Scots in the contest.
