Aidan McGeown and
Martin Esquivel both scored goals in the first 12 minutes for Lyon College in a 2-0 win over the visiting SLIAC opponents, the Westminster Blue Jays.
For the Scots (4-4, 1-0), it was their home debut at Huser Field for this season and a much needed win that put them atop the SLIAC standings. McGeown scored his goal at the 11:26 mark of the first half on an assist by
Andrei Galca. Esquivel followed that less than 30 seconds later with a straight on goal that blew by the Westminster goalie
Lyon College totaled 14 shots for the game, six of which were on-goal kicks, while defensively, the Scots held Westminster down to only four shots and a solo kick on goal.
There were 27 fouls combined from both teams with the Blue Jays getting three yellow cards in the second half, because of a frustrating Lyon College defense.Â
McGeown had two shots, one of which was on goal, Equivel had three shots and two of those were on-goal, Galca had two shots and one was on goal, while
