Box Score GREENVILLE, Illinois - The Lyon College men's soccer team fought to a 1-1 tie with Greenville on Thursday afternoon in SLIAC action at Greenville, Illinois.
The Scots (4-4-1, 1-0-1) were tied for the first time this season. Greenville had the initial lead of the game on a goal with at the 49:31 mark, but the Scots came back and
Ryan Jenkins scored at the 54:57 mark to tie the game on an assist from
Martin Esquivel.
Lyon College had eight total shots and three of which were on-goal.
Lucas Crivilatti,
Rafael Campos,
Andrei Galca and
Filipe Santana de Oliveira all had one shot.
Erik Oliveira had three shots and two of those were on-goal kicks. Jenkins had the only other kick and it was netted.
Scots goalkeeper
Gabriel Rangel saved four shots in the match.
The first half ended in a 0-0 tie with both teams getting decent shots at the goal. The Scots had a corner kick with six seconds left in the contest that was punched toward the goal by a header, but missed just right.Â
Before that with just under seven minutes to go,
Erik Oliveira's shot on goal was wide left.
The Scots had six corner kicks in the match to four for Greenville.Â
Lyon College will be back in action on Saturday at Principia.
