ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The Lyon College softball Scots lost an American Midwest Conference double-header against the Missouri Baptist University Spartans in St. Louis on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field.
The Scots (15-17, 3-9) lost the first game 5-0 and dropped the second game in five innings 8-0.
Lyon College only had six hits in the first game and committed four errors.
Whitney Mitchell had a double,
Anna Voth had two hits,
McKenzie Campbell had a hit, as did
Savannah Lee and
Emily Martinez.Â
The Scots struck out seven times and walked twice.
Campbell suffered the loss on the mound for Lyon College. She pitched 6.0 innings and gave up six hits, five runs and had five strike outs.
In the second game, Lyon College had no hits and made two errors in a no-hit shut out by Missouri Baptist. The Scots had three walks in the game,
Sophie Varela, MK Duffield and
Fallon Lancaster, but all three were left stranded on base.
Lyon College struck out 12 times in the second game.
Alyssa Buentello took the loss for the Scots. She pitched 4.1 innings, gave up 10 hits, eight runs, walked four and struck out one.Â
