BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots baseball team split an American Midwest Conference double-header, winning the first game 6-1 and losing the second game 5-2, at Fred Wann Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Scots (13-13, 6-2) will face Columbia College on Sunday in the decisive game of the three-game series.
In the first game, Columbia took a 1-0 lead on a solo home run in the top of the first inning, but the Scots took the lead when

Logan Lightner,
Austin Shipman doubled in
Bradley McLemore and
Jayden Cull singled in
Hayden Hargrave to make it 3-1.
Cull singled in Hargrave again in the bottom of the third inning to give Lyon College a 4-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Shipman singled in Lightner and
Derek Underwood singled to score McLemore for a 6-1 lead.
Ayden Heitmann pitched seven full innings and gave up one earned run on six hits and struck out nine batters.
In Game 2, Lyon College took an early lead when Shipman belted a two-run homer that also scored McLevain.
However, that was all the scoring for the Scots in the second game. The Cougars added a run in the top of the second, tied the game 2-2 in the top of the third and took a one run lead in the top of the fifth. Columbia added on a run in the sixth and ninth innings.
Cameron Gordon suffered the loss for the Scots on the mound. He went six innings, gave up nine hits and three earned runs.
Ian Jackson came to pitch for 2.1 innings and allowed four hits and one earned run. Lightner pitched the final two outs for the Scots.
