NEVADA, Missouri - The Lyon College Softball Scots lost an American Midwest Conference double-header to the Cottey College Comets on Sunday afternoon, 9-0 and 11-0.
The Scots (12-12, 0-4) had a recent 10-game winning streak snapped, but still won 12 of their last 14Â games before entering this weekend against William Woods and Cottey College. Lyon College is 0-5 in its last five outings.
In Game 1 against the Comets, Cottey scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, added three more runs in the bottom of the third and three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. The two runs they scored in the bottom of the sixth, ended the game.Â
Lyon College had no runs, no hits and struck out 14 times.
Emily Martinez walked and
Anna Voth was left on base twice.Â

McKenzie Campbell suffered the loss on the mound for the Scots, going 5.1 innings and giving up 13 hits, nine earned runs and struck out six batters.
In Game 2, the Scots were shut out again, but managed to get three hits. Cottey scored three times in the bottom of the first inning and added eight runs in the bottom of the second inning. The game ended in top of the fifth.

Alyssa Buentello each had hits in the contest for Lyon College.
