BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College baseball Scots dropped a 14-1 decision to the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles at Fred Wann Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The Scots (5-9) had only one run on six hits in the seven inning game that was scheduled for nine innings.Â
TAMUT scored five runs in the top of the first inning, added three more in the top of the second and scored two runs each in the third, fourth and sixth innings to total 14 runs on 15 hits.Â
Lyon College got its run in the bottom of the fourth inning when
Kyle Carver reached first on an error that brought in
Garrett Graef. The Scots got hits from
Jayden Cull,
Brayden Graham,
Derek Underwood, two from Carver and one from
Balah Muhammed.Â
Beau Smith suffered the loss for Lyon College. He threw for 1.1 innings, gave up five hits and seven earned runs, while striking out two and hitting three batters of the 13 he faced.
Ian Jackson pitched for an inning and allowed two hits, two runs, walked one and hit a batter of the eight he faced.
Nick Chaney pitched for two outs and allowed two hits and struck out one of the six he batters he saw.
Brayden Anderson pitched for an inning and gave up three hits and two earned runs.
Matt Walmsley came in for two innings and allowed three hits and two earned runs.
Joe Galway threw for one inning and struck out three batters.Â
