BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots baseball team dropped its series finale against the University of St. Francis Saints 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at Fred Wann Field in Batesville.
The Saints took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a 2-run homer. The Scots (1-6) got a run across when
Logan Lightner hit a sacrifice to score
Jayden Cull from third base in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it 2-1.
USF doubled in a run in the top of the fifth to go up by two runs, but Lyon College got a solo home run from
Bradley McLemore in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Saints came back in teh seventh to score four times.
The Scots had two runs on seven hits and they made no errors, while USF had seven runs on 16 hits with one error.
Beau Smith suffered the loss for the Scots going six innings.
Nick Chaney pitched for an out,
Garrett Graef pitched for an out,
Ian Jackson pitched for 1.1 innings and Lightner finished out the game with one inning pitched.Â
