BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College Scots baseball team dropped a double-header on Saturday afternoon to St. Francis 11-10 and 16-5 at Fred Wann Field.
St. Francis led 3-0 in the first game before
Garrett Graef homered in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Derek Underwood singled in
Kyle Carver and
Austin Shipman singled in
Hayden Hargrave to tie the game at 3-3.
St. Francis put up three more runs in the fifth, but the Scots came back when Carver was hit by a pitch that scored
Jayden Cull. Underwood singled in
Logan Lightner, Hargrave walked with the bases loaded to bring in Graef and
Thomas Lingren hit a sacrifice fly to center field that brought in Carver and give the Scots a 7-6 lead.Â
St. Francis scored three runs in the top of the sixth, but Lyon College scored on a Lightner double that brougn in Cull and Graef singled in Lightner to tie the game 10-10. St. Francis answered with the go-ahead scored on a homerun.
In the second game, the Scots trailed 16-0 before scoring five runs in the later innings.
